FAQ.
Answers to common questions before booking.
What ages can take part?
Our camps welcome children aged 4 to 13, with groups based on their age on 15 September 2027.
Is the camp suitable for children who are new to the mountains?
Yes. Activities are introduced gradually and supervised, with particular attention to each group’s pace.
My child does not speak French. Can they join the camp?
Yes. English-speaking children are welcome at Stages Trappeurs. Our outdoor kids summer camp in Megève welcomes children from 4 to 13 years old for nature activities, mountain games, cabins, group adventures and summer camp activities for kids in Megève. Several instructors speak English, and many children in the groups also speak English.
Who supervises the children?
Our leaders are carefully recruited, qualified and insured independent professionals experienced in working with children. Every age group is always supervised by a pair of leaders for safety. Groups are split when needed according to numbers.
Does my child have to join the overnight camp?
Held at the end of the week, after children have made friends, the overnight camp is the highlight of their stay. It creates special memories and brings the group together. The few children who have chosen not to take part over the past four years have often regretted missing this shared experience.
What should a Trappeur bring?
Practical clothes that can get dirty: shorts, a T-shirt, sturdy shoes with good grip, a waterproof jacket and a fleece or sweatshirt for the temperature. Bring tissues, a small rubbish bag, sunscreen and a suitable backpack, ideally with a waist strap. For water activities: a small microfibre towel or tea towel and water shoes, not flip-flops. An orange cap marked with the child’s name is provided and must be worn every day.
What happens if it rains?
Trappeurs is a fully outdoor camp. Everything takes place outside, so children need suitable equipment. Leaders adapt using ropes, tarpaulins and practical outdoor solutions. This is also a valuable experience for children.
What equipment is needed for the overnight camp?
A good hiking backpack of around 30 litres, with waist and chest straps, is essential. Bring two packed lunches; dinner and breakfast are provided. Pack tracksuit trousers, a jumper, a 1–1.5 litre water bottle, a head torch, a toothbrush and a comfort toy if needed. Sleeping mats can be hired for €5 and sleeping bags for €10.
Are reduced rates available?
Yes. A preferential rate of €450 may apply from the third combined booking for siblings in the same family. Please contact us beforehand.
How do we book?
Book online through the dedicated booking page. Choose your child’s age group and week, then pay online. You will receive the confirmation, invoice and registration form by email to complete your child’s details.
