At what age can my child start skiing?
First of all, the child must be in demand; the ideal is 4/5 years old, before that it is really early and the learning time will be longer, because the installation of the snowplow is quite technical. From the age of 5/6, everything will be faster.
How many hours a day can my child ski?
– It depends on his age and his resistance; a 3 or 4 year old child can ski 1h / 2h per day and from 5 years old some ski morning + afternoon with great pleasure.
Can my child get his medal after 1 week of lessons?
A child who follows 2h1/2 of intensive lessons all week long has a good chance of progressing and achieving a higher level. On the other hand, the higher up the reward scale, the higher the level, and the more technical and practical the exercises required. If the child skies the 2nd part of the day in a lesson or with his parents, he will be able to use what he has learned, and will have more chance to progress… unless his parents take him on slopes too difficult for him in which case, he will regress to follow the rhythm and lose all the interest of the lesson… 🙁
Is the TRAPPEURS course compatible with ski lessons?
The Trappers course is a fun and educational concept to enjoy the winter environment, other than skiing. The child can come in the afternoon (14:00/16:30) or with a picnic for lunch (12:40/16:30).The meeting point will be at the top of the Cabochon ski lift (at the Caboche) and we will be skiing between the Tour and the Lac de Javen. The child will have to be warmly equipped with 2 pairs of gloves, hat, sunglasses, sun cream, après-ski boots and a backpack with a water bottle and a thermos of food/picnic, if he/she takes his/her meal under the tipi. Trappers end at 4:30 pm for those in the afternoon. Please suggest that they go to the toilet first and pick them up on time, as we are exclusively outdoor.
In summer, isn't the rhythm of a full day too long?
In summer, the days are cooler, there are fewer constraints than in winter with the cold, the weight of the equipment, the fact of being often upright and the omnipresent attention required on the slopes. The tennis camp is quite fun, then comes the time for a picnic and a break where the child recovers his strength to discover the afternoon activity. If the child is tired, the facilitators are there to notice this and offer a break if necessary. But the day is spent in joy and discovery, and time goes by very quickly..!
If my child has never done these summer activities, is that a problem?
Not at all, on the contrary! The Megève Multi-Sports internship is designed so that the child discovers new physical and emotional sensations within the mountain environment, supervised by professionals who remain attentive to his needs, so there is nothing to worry about. Boys and girls from 6 to 12 years old are having a great time and you will enjoy watching your children blossom as the days go by and telling you about their adventures… 🙂
