FIRST STEP

After a first contact and the presentations, we move on to the first track, adapted to the child’s level.

The first steps are taken with confidence, quietly, in order to rediscover the sensations of skiing forgotten since last season… or to discover these strange new impressions…

Then the evolution is done quickly, the child assimilates the gestures and movements by mimicry and some simple advice.

THE PRACTICE

The most important thing is to practice intensely and to vary the terrain, so that the young skier can adapt to different situations; the lifts will be taken at his own pace, as soon as he is confident and able to succeed.

A test will be conducted at the end of the week to evaluate your child. The medal corresponding to the level he has acquired will be awarded at the end of his stay. (See the list of medals)

Photos will be proposed to you, according to the weather conditions of the week…

Location of Ski lessons

La Caboche is the main starting point for ski lessons, located between Rochebrune and Mont d’Arbois, from the village centre by the Chamois cable.

Possibility to ski in Rochebrune, Mont d’Arbois and the Princess.

Be sure to specify your starting point for the lesson for the appointments.

Tips For Parents

Particular attention must be paid to the child’s equipment :

He must absolutely wear a helmet, which must cover his forehead and not move on his head.
For glasses, the most practical is the mask, adapted to all weather conditions.
A pair of gloves or mittens that are easy to put on and convenient for holding sticks.
Sunscreen, when the sun is present or veiled.
Provide a rain cape or Kway to wear on the jacket in case of rain.
On the equipment side, beginners’ skis should not extend beyond the chin.
In general, 70 cm for 3 years old, 80 cm for 4/5 years old, 90 cm for 5/6 years old, depending on the size of the child.
Sticks are not necessary for beginners.
A small snack in the pockets will be welcome during the break.
Plan a ski pass adapted to the child’s level, to be discussed with the instructor.
Free of charge for children under 5 years old, to be established for the week with the identity card or an official document required !

Ski lesson booking

Remember to book your ski lessons as soon as your accommodation is confirmed because some people do it from one year to the next… 😉

If you are interested in renting an apartment in the village, make a request by email (4 to 6 people).

CANCELLATION CONDITIONS

When booking ski lessons for your children, you commit to the full service.

Your schedules will be booked upon receipt of the deposit, by cheque or bank transfer.

In the event that it is impossible to honour your reservation, resulting in a cancellation on your part between 15 and 6 days before the start of the course, 30% of the amount will be charged.
In case of cancellation from 5 to 3 days before the start of the course, you will be charged a 50% participation fee.
And if the cancellation occurs the day before or the day of the course, the full amount of the service will be due; you can then return to your insurance company for a refund of the amount paid

Once on site, in Megève, classes are held every day, whatever the weather conditions; in case of extreme conditions, the instructor will give her opinion on whether or not to suspend the classes.

If you decide on your own not to put your child in class, the lesson will be due.

If the instructor is unable to provide the lessons, be assured that everything will be done to offer you an alternative and if this is not possible, the deposit will be refunded.
In case of COVID and a cancelled trip, you will be refunded 90% of the ski lessons, with a medical certificate or in case of imposed confinement.
